Talk Over You Jack

Jim had a whole host of client interactions over the years; the paranoid shopper, the cheapskate, the obsessive compulsive, etc. On this day he found himself amongst one he had never dealt with before, talk over you Jack. Talk over you Jack called on a fine Sunday afternoon, and before Jim can say hello talk over you Jack Jumped in “Hi Jim, I got your number from Ben, he said you built a beautiful deck for him, well it turns out I am in the market for a new deck, can you assist me?”

“I would be Hap…” before Jim can finish his sentence Jack jumped in.

“Great, great, this is great. Listen the deck will be about 400 square feet, with guard rails, both on top, and a little lower on the bottom, I have a pug, and would hate for him to go over the edge”

“You know they have…” once again, before Jim can finish, Jack interrupted.

“And I would also like lights built in the deck, that way I can see where I am walking, I would also hate to be sued by a stumbler, haha, this will be great.”

“Okay, can I come out and take…” before Jim can finish.

“Can you come out and take a look? Monday would be a great day for me, if that does not work I can also make Wed or Friday, or even Saturday work”.

“Monday would be fi…”

“Great, great, Monday, it is, I am free all day, well except for 2 I have a doctor’s appointment for a colonoscopy, my stomach hasn’t been feeling great lately, oh, and at 3:30 I need to pick the kids up from school, oh yeah and at 12 I have a lunch appointment, it looks like 10:05 would work great for me.”

“10:05 would...”

“Great, I will...” Jim finally jumped in.

“Can I finish!” Jim responded with a raised voice.

“Please don’t interrupt me” replied Jack, “It’s kind of rude.”

Jim, flabbergasted and exhausted hung up the phone. Jack Called back and Jim sent his call to voicemail, where he angrily lectured Jim on his business practices for the whole duration of the message.
